Is there a difference between ATR40 and ATR30?

You're going to say "no, they both suck"--I know, I know. While most of you are trying to find more expensive microphones to replace what you have, I want to do the opposite. It's a long story, but basically I want to find cheap microphones to send to people I'm working with.

So I have an Audio Technica ATR40 that I bought 3 or 4 years ago. It sounds fine for what I'm doing--recording speech. In fact, I like it a lot better than the more expensive SM58, and that surprised me. I don't see a lot of information on the ATR40 anyplace and it looks like the same thing as the ATR30, but it's still more expensive. For my project, I would rather send people ATR30s than ATR40s to save money. What is the real difference between the two?

You may want to ask this in the mic forum. You would probably get replies there.

I'll repost my message on that other forum that I didn't see. Sorry!

EDIT: Please reply in the other post.
