Does anyone know if the Independent Underground Music Archive is still around and what it is exactly? I've tried to get there, but my computer won't open the page.

My answer would be "barely' and qualified with "only sometimes".
AFAIK the site is still there but it hasn't worked right for quite some time now and generally speaking I would stay away from it.

IUMA's still around.
They're not as strong as they used to be, but the site's still up and running, and you can still post songs.

Music Video Project Done!
This is a band I have been working with for more than a year now, production has been slow, due to our crazy schedules, but we just completed their first music video. Recorded, mixed, filmed, edited, produced all on my mac, written by the band. A better quality video will be on the site soon, so bare with the super compressed version for now.

Heard from a reliable source that, while the site is being hosted, there are no longer any employees there. Not sure what happened to Jeff, but he was a cool as hell guy and I hope he pops back up one of these days. The fact that the thing is still running on its own shows how well it was designed.
