Is the bass too flat?

Any mixing suggestions? I think the overall volume is low, I'm going to try and boost that tonight.

UPDATE: I've attached an updated mix. This has been a tough one to mix because of the bass and guitar playing the same parts.

This should go in the MP3 Clinic.

I'm beginning to think that the Clinic and the Mix This forum shouldn't be on top of each other in the main menu. People often get them mixed up. There are 3 or 4 threads in here that should go in the Clinic.

Just sayin....not blaming the OP or anyone else.

70% guitars.... 30% everything else.

drums are there like a light seasoning only. Since the bass duplicates the guitars, it's all kinda the same in a way... which is OK.. but doesn't relate to the drums ever...which is OK too...I suppose.

Good tune...OK vocals... skewed mix for sure.

Thanks! It needs work. My singing sucks, I know. It's for my enjoyment, that's a good thing. I put a high pass filter and used sonar's new ca2a on the vocals, that made a world of difference in clearing up some of the mess. I'll post an updated version when it's cleaner. Thanks for the tips!

hey...you've got a good recording program... it'll fall in place. Let your ears tell you when it really sounds right. Your singing is fine... Note..I don't sing!!

I listened this through earphones (your first mix) but I can definitly tell that the guitars are pretty loud.
I do like your tone and the solo around 2:28.

I thought it sounded great. Guitars sounded real good. By "flat" were you asking if the bass was out of tune? It didn't seem like it was out of tune.

I wasn't crazy about the drums. Lot's of hyped high end.

Vocals were buried.
