I have had a hard go the past two years or so.
I have liked Cakewalk, except for the missing real time effects.
I have not liked Cubasis, except the real time effects are great - but to many other quirky things - clearly a Mac program trying to be forced into Windows.
I have tried ProTools Free and it freezes before it can open a project - and I tried different downloads etc. All with the same result.
(This is my last Dell that is for sure)
I am using Cakewalk9 right now and want to upgrade to something.
I was not going to at first because I am mainly acoustic guitar and some vocals and that is it. I have no interest in midi anything really. Dont need drum machines etc etc.
They would be fun to play around with, but not really what I do as a performing musician.
However, I want real time effects or at least better than what I got now.
How are the effects in SONAR? Do they work just like Cakewalk's effects are is there some improvement in how they work etc?
What are the advanatages of upgrading to SONAR?
