ok heres the deal.......i tryed to record on cakewalk using the record out on my PA mixer and it didnt boost the signal so i used the speaker outputs on the mixer (oops) and that just made it extreamly loud and distorted so i though ok its my PA so i bought a ART tube MP pre-amp to see if that would work and i get the same thing.... the level is sooo sooooooo low you and hear little if nothing , and thats with the speakers turned all the way up. did i blow my soundcard input??? i can still play music and everything on my computer perfect. i can only buy a card under $200. i was looking at the Audiophile 2496 would this be ok???
thanks a lot

make sure you are going into the line in of the SB Live.....

also, the Audiophile is a GREAT card for the price...it can be had for $149 US.......

oh yeah, how would i go about connecting my guitar to the card through the pre-amp. does it have a line in??

The Audiophile has 2 RCA Line inputs so youd hook it up the same as you would the SB Live, only the cord you use needs an RCA plug....
