Okay so i'm kinda new to recording songs and i don't have recording gear, i only have a guitar and i plug it in the line in of my PC... yes i know i can't get it to sound good, but i still can't afford anything right now, i will get an audio interface in the future for sure. But now lets get to the point, I recorded a simple preview metal song, can you please listen to it and tell me if it sounds good? Be honest please because i want to get better and even if it sounds really bad i will appreciate you reply. Thanks

I didn't think it was too bad. I thought the guitars sounded pretty good.

The bass was a little sterile sounding. You might have given it a low end boost maybe? Or cut the low midrange? It seemed a little boingy in the low end.

The drums were pretty mechanical and the samples were, somewhat like the bass, a little sterile (especially the kick).

The doubled guitars were decent. But there were spots where the doubling could have been tighter. You may want to try more takes, or punch out the parts that aren't tight.

But I think you have a good start.

Sounds pretty good actually. Some issues but not bad at all for a first off.

What software are you using and what Amp Sim? You should include this in your signature line as it will make it easier for members to help you if they know what your signal chain is.

:)

Hey man, the guitars sound thin yet upfront, which makes me think it's a volume issue. Take them back just a bit.
Or, did you use the same settings for both? In that case it might be a frequency buildup in the harsh ranges so look into that and use a different amp setting on each.

I dug the song (short as it was) and chugging rhythms.

The bass guitar is just my electric guitar pitch shifted 12 semitones down, and i can't get it to sound like a real bass that's for sure, and about the drums, i use Superior Drummer 2, and i forgot to humanize the midi file. But still thank you for your reply. :)

I'm using Cockos Reaper, but i just switched to Cubase because all my plugins got screwed up in Reaper, some of their names got deleted and some don't even show up, but everything was fine and suddenly one day it screwed me over, so i just started with Cubase. For the amp sim, i've tried a lot of them, and i'm now using Ezmix with an expansion pack, it sounds the best so far. I've used Bias, a lot of free virtual amps with impulse responses and they just didn't sound good. And thank you for your reply

I use the same amp and same settings for both left and right guitar but i do complementary eq and i boost some frequencies on the left i think, and cut the same on the right and gives it a wider feel.
