Hi!

I have a fairly new M-Audio Keystation 49e. Everything was fine until about a week ago. For some reason, none of my NI plugins nor my recording software will recognize its existence. Windows detects it every time i switch it on and off with the "device found" noise. Also, I looked in my device manager and it indicates that there is a USB Audio Device (Keystation 49e) is installed and working properly. Can someone please tell me what the problem is?

Thanks!

Furthermore, are there any advantages to using the actual MIDI input on my EMU soundcard rather than the standard USB connection it came with? Cuz if there is a real advantage, I would have to go out and buy a power adapter and MIDI cable.

from what i've experienced (I have a terratec phase 22 and a edirol pcr-80), if I avoid the usb connection and go straight up midi-out to midi-in...i get a much lower latency. but thats just from experimenting, not sure if it's the same with your gear.

peace

The drivers for my M-Audio MidiSport MIDI interface sometimes for no apparent reason go away every so often. A reboot or two usually brings them back. Since the Keystation has a MIDI/USB interface built in to it, assuming that the drivers are probably the same or very close since it's an M-Audio product, you might be seeing what I see.
