I am only interested in recording a couple of acoustic guitar and a couple of vocal tracks on my songs. I am running an Oktava MK 319 mic, through a presonus preamp, a fmr rnc 1773 compressor, alesis miniverb into a fostex mr 8 digital recorder. I can mix(limited) and master and convert to wav files to send to my pc.

Will using a mixer be of benefit to me or a waste of money do to only needing a clean sound comprised of only vocals and acoustics. I was thinking about a Mackie 1202 pro.

I would vote no. A board like the Mackie 1202 might help organize you equipment but , as I noted in a previous post, a patchbay could accomplish the same thing for a little over $100. In addition, I'm not sure what Presonus preamp you have, but I would guess that the preamps in the Mackie board are not that much of an improvement. And if you have a high-end Presonus you might actually loose quality.
