Is mastering less necessary for electronic music?

I ask because I assume mastering to be more important in cases where instruments/voices have been recorded out loud in a room or studio, rather than via direct input, wherein mastering is presumably less of an issue.

Getting the bass right is critical for electronic music. That arguably makes mastering even more important than for acoustic recordings.

i constantly get the bass wrong...its hard enough mixing it let along mastering it
