Is Lightningmp3 down?

So for some reason i cannot upload anything to Lightningmp3.com does anyone know why that would be or anyother place where i can upload an mp3 and just be taken to a window with quicktime playing it and not a whole window full of ads and stuff?
 
i am having problems uploading, it just never does anything, it just sits there for hours loading and never does anything when i hit the upload button or it goes to an error page
 
What did you use to encode your MP3? The LAME encoder? How big is the MP3 file? Bitrate? What does the error page say?
 
well i exported it as a WAV from pro tools and then used audacity to convert it and this is the error i am getting

It's NL5's site (he's a member of this board) and I did part of the file upload code on the site. I think it may have problems reading some MP3 files. I'll PM him and ask him if I can check it out.

In the meantime, make sure you're using LAME with Audacity to make it an MP3 file (NOT BladeEncoder), this should be in Audacity's settings. You may have to do this first:

1.) Close Audacity.

2.) Download this LAME zip file.

3.) Extract the zip file.

4.) Put the lame_enc.dll file into your C:\WINDOWS\System32\ folder.

5.) Go back to Audacity and look in preferences to make sure it's using the LAME encoder.

6.) Insert your WAV file into Audacity and export as MP3 and try again.

It's always best to use LAME as your MP3 encoder and not other ones like BladeMP3 Encoder.
 
yeah i am using the lame encoder for audacity so i dont know whats wrong but let me know what he says about it

I fixed it

It will no longer show information about your MP3 once the file is uploaded (the code used for that was the problem), but I think it's more important that it actually works. :)

Give it another try.
