So what you're saying is without his stompers he's nothing....................................definately wrong to like him

Tom Morello has some extremely varied sounds & tones that aren't all delay, delay & more delay & he can play some pretty fucked up riffage & leadism soloIsing :D :D (only my opinion, I think Audioslave are better than RATM)
 
I think he hide behind all his stomp boxes. He's way better than The edge but he's still not so good for my personal taste. I went to a Paul Gilbert guitar clinic a few years ago and he played like hell using only his guitar, an overdrive box and his amp.

Paul Gilbert's a different beast altogether & plays in a completely different way & as you say a guitar, box & amp

but Tom Morello looks for the whackiest effect he can get & to let the effect work properly he has to keep the parts relatively straight forward

Yeah man - Morello is *way* more inventive than the Edge.
No contest at all.

The guy *plays* his stomp boxes as instruments!
Plus he is a very good guitarist as well.

"Party Girl" on "Under a Blood Red Sky" pretty much sums up The Edge's ability to solo - it's the saddest thing I've heard since early-Beatles George Harrison demo solos.

But he never said he was EVH, so I take him with a grain of salt peter.

There are millions of people that can sit down for five minutes and figure out any guitar part. Congratulations. The trick is actually creating it, not replicating it.
