Hmmm?

I'm either going to pick up Sonar 3.0 straight up for $370, or buy a sealed Sonar 2.2 XL and upgrade it for $450 total.

I'm just curious, is it worth the extra $80 for the plug ins in 2.2 XL?

are you talking about Sonar 3 Producers or Studio edition?

If you get Producers Ed., then the plugs in 2.2XL are probably not worth it, otherwise, yes, $80 is way more than worth it for the Timeworks Compressor and EQ alone (those are more than $300 separately, and they are great)

If you already have a cakewalk product you may get it for less.

Get a NEW copy of ProAudio9 off ebay from a dealer, register it, then use the upgrade option for Sonar and dump PA9 back onto ebay.

That should save you a few bucks.............:)

i definitly think the sonic timeworks compressorX and EQ are worth the 80's dollars...get it get it...then upgrade to sonar 3 cuz sonar 3 pro doesn't have the timeworks stuff, which i assume you already know...because of the question asked...

That might work. They're going for about $10 on ebay and the upgrade is $299...

I'm trying! :)

I love the timeworks plugs, especially the EQ which I don't think I could live without. And don't forget that you will also be getting DR-008 which is a great piece of software. All that for $80 is a steal. If it is in the realm of your budget, I would say go for it.

Agreed. Timeworks EQ I love. It's my favorite EQ. It's got two different interfaces which are both handy. Just that is worth the money to me.

Well I just got an unregistered version of Sonar XL 2.2 on ebay for $200. Now I just pray it gets to me and is indeed unregistered. Then I upgrade for $170 and voila, Sonar 3.0 with 2.2xl effects for $370.

I just got Sonar 2.2XL in the mail today with the manual and everything. I was afraid and expecting it to be registered already or something, but when I put it in to register it everything went smoothly!!!

Now another $179 later I'll have 3.0 Producer's edition! Hell yeah. Merry Christmas to me!

I got producers Edition for my studio but I didn't notice the damn thing doesn't work on my Milleniun edition computers. Those bastards. Now i got to upgrade to XP (I know its better but i hate change).
Besides..my 2.2 XL worked fine under ME.... I swear they're in kahoots w/ Bill gates.

Oh no! It's great! Sonar 3 is the most stable version yet. :)

And if you're runnin WinME, an upgrade wouldn't hurt at all. ;)

I have been using it now for about 14 days (evenings) for about 3-5 hours each time....recoring audio, midi, using DXi's, mixing, everything.....not one stop or drop out....just working perfectly!!!
