is it safe to record BASS direct to PC ?
and if yes, what are the best tips to makes it sound right ?

Yes, that's safe. You're going to need some kind of direct box to get it in there, though. Tell us about your setup. What kind of outputs does your bass amp have, and do you have a mixer?

nope i ve got a Sound blaster Audigy, and i plug directly my bass on the Line2 input via a jack :)

Can you get some kind of preamp to get into the computer. I have a bass but no amp(I know it is silly)

you can definitely do it, but will it sound good, probably not.

about recording bass

I have a similar set up , well not really, bnut I have an upright bass, a k&k one channel preamp with two piezo p/u's on the bridge, and I go through the preamp to the mic input on my pc. I have a program called multitrackstudio (which uses the dame devioces as any other program, basically). Would I be better off using a mic with an amp to get the deep tones?
