1. Gives your whole mix much higher maths to calculate a better mixdown.
2. Also does help on single tracks when applying effects that you want to save into the wav file.

Scott, you are correct on your second point, but not your first. All software will convert to 32bit (at least) for mixing. Having the file already at 32bit *might* save a little power, but it won't change how the audio is processed.

Destructively applying effects, as you mentioned, is a whole 'nother story though!

thank you slackmaster!

I am trying right now to determine exactly how to pass a digital clone in vegas. And the same IDIOT that always jumps on me ( and who is probably most responsible for vegas not having asio or input monitoring or true outputs) has chastised me for not knowing...I didnt code vegas, HOW would I know?????

douchebag doesnt understand that there are all KINDS of forces that could be working in the background...anyhow, click here to see me in a fight with the MORON again

It's amazing the way that pussy cries for the expert and bashes your questions at the same time...good times!

Maybe the new version of whatever he's using has a cleaner playback path? The actual digital data won't be any different as long as the sampling rate/hardware etc... hasn't changed.

I can't give you the math, but recording on my PC in Sonar sounds like it should, while recording in Vegas with the exact same everything has a very colored sound to it. It's hard to explain, but I can hear it as plain as night and day.
