is it ok to leave your usb or firewire interface plugged into your pc 24/7 ?

if it doesn't have a power button will this hurt the longevity of the device at all? i like using my interface as my primary soundcard and i keep my pc on 24/7 except for night time when i put it into sleep mode. is it ok ot leave my interface plugged in 24/7 as well?

If it is USB powered it won't hurt it. If it has an external power supply, put it on a power strip, and turn it on before you kick on any software.

This only occurs when I leave the drive disconnected from my computer.

@OP There's nothing about those kind of connections that make them inherently bad for anything involved. (Translation - yes, it's just fine ).

My PC is on 24/7, and my Firepod is plugged in and likewise on 24/7.

The only concern is if you have a wallwart-powered device, those things get hotter than hell sometimes.
