I run the exact same setup as you, with a Gibson LP Studio. What kind of guitar are you using? Anyway, here's a few quick suggestions:
- Do not run the amp in VPR mode. There is little volume difference between the two and having the VPR button in sounds like you threw a wet blanket over your speakers.
- Turn down the gain, turn up the volume - especially on the lead channel. This amp really needs some volume before it opens up and sounds the way it should. Somewhere between 2 and 3, which is pretty darn loud!
- The crunch channel is the most versatile channel on this amp - you really need to play with it a lot. Turn the gain down low, toggle between your pickups, mess with the volume on your guitar. Turn the gain up, do the same thing. This channel can go from clean -> blues -> classic rock -> modern rock.
- Get a good EQ pedal and run it in front of the amp. This takes the TSL from a good amp to a great amp. Every channel sounds better, the cleans sparkle more, the crunch crunches more and the lead channel is much more tight and defined.
Good luck!
