Site & forum.Thx for this...

Gona start on a new, (from scratch) Studio and multi purpose building soon, very-I hope. is a new properity and on a large lake.
Have enough equipment to make a good show of it, after building is up, so this is a learning curve to me. Any-way, like to have any fondation advise and so on, as is needed in construction.
retired : Cut-n corners & cost always welcome

Thx

Tah,

How much room do you have or do you plan to use? Square feet?

How much isolation do you require? Tell us more... ;)

You probably do not need separate slabs for the different rooms so I would recommend the 'normal' type of foundation for your area. You should consult with an engineer to determine the depth of footers, etc., which depends on the type of ground/soil you will be building upon. Many variables here.

I have some good info and calculators on my site and if I can be of assistance, send me an email.

Cheers,
John

Best advise I can give you is buy this book PRIOR to designing your space, as there are many, many elements that have a bearing on the layout, design, materials and details of construction, that most contractors/architects are not familiar with. Like foundation footings for DOUBLE walls and room within a room designs, HVAC and ventilation requirements, special door and jambs, windows and other important elements such as acoustical TREATMENT and TRANSMISSION LOSS construction and design.
