Magic Bag Of Sounds
i'm currently running a cheesy 2 year old emachines with an amd that has 512mb of memory. its very noisy, but i have honestly not had many problems with it. sometimes if i add too many tracks it starts lagging but its not a huge issue.

heres the write up:

------

i emailed him and the nuendo is a crack so i'll have to reformat. the computer is actually $300 but i just ordered a midi interface for $50 that i can return since the emu has a midi input, so in my mind the computer is about $250. the 40gb harddrive is kind of lame but i'm pretty sure it will work with my vf16 so i can take it out and replace it with a huge one (i work at circuit city so its no big deal)
i've heard some complaints about pentium 4s with recording, but i'm not sure if its overblown...

I have a P4 2.4Ghz in my recording comp and have no trouble.

$250 sounds very reasonable, especially if you get the XP disc.

Yeah that is a good deal!
It would cost you way more to buy all that from scratch.
