IRIG would work on android but is missing an app

so its either i buy the irig that would work on an ipod/ipad and has a great app, or buy a ipod touch to make it work.I could also buy a cheap cable but that doesnt have an app and who knows if it connects to and android device.

are there other IRIG like devices out there that have effects and or and app for android??
