ipods? whos got one?

Get an Archos AV series if you want yo recrd direct to WAV. Better yet get one of them marantz CF card recorders that Doc has.
 
i got a 30gig photo and its my baby.
i seriosly take it everywhere.
 
I bought a 20Gb @ target a couple months ago, then 2 weeks later I won a 30Gb Photo. My new 30 sounds different than the 20, goes a little louder, sounds cleaner. So I sold the 20 to a friend for $275.
 
I use a creative zen micro. It has a removable battery, which is great since you don't need to send it back to apple to swap it out when it dies, the way you do with the ipod. It also has better sound quality (higher s/n ratio) than the ipods.
 
My Dell's HDD just died on Saturday, so I ran out to Best Buy yesterday and picked up a Creative Zen xTra 40GB. Luckily I kept all my music on my PC, so I had no problems loading up the new player. I'm listening to PF's "The Wall" right now (One of My Turns, crazy stuff!)
 
I have a 256mb usb stick player...


Ipods seem really great, but what bugs me out is that it's become such a hype! Everybody's showing off like "HEY! LOOK AT ME!" and never talk about their "MP3 PLAYER" but always about "MY IPOD"...

Walking around with an IPOD in their hand instead of their pocket... and/or using the very recognisable white earplugs...

Nothing against apple, nothing against Ipods, but a whole lot against the hyper....I just can't stand trendies...
 
That's pretty much the reason I went with my Dell originally! My brother has an iPod and he makes fun of my Dell because "it's so big!" and I go "Well, it was $100 cheaper so ask me if I care!" (my brother and I get along, I swear!)
When my Dell died this weekend, I couldn't get an iPod even if I wanted to, because all my music (>300 CDs) is stored as WMAs so it would take FOREVER to re-rip everything. When I was at Best Buy picking up my Nomad, EVERYONE there was drooling over the iPod. Suckers!
