ion electric drumset expansion kits

ok i bought the ion electric Drumset for 300 bucks..i know its cheap and it probablly sucks big time but what my plan is is to improve the kit with better pads..it comes with a switch for the bass drum and hihats..my question is can i buy a better kick drum for it? i belive the drum machine use with the ion is a Alesis sr-16 ..and also is it possible to replace the pads with betterones?
 
I am thinking about picking this up and upgrading it as well. I saw one guy had just got a extra pad, attached it on the bottom bracket, and used a chain kick.
 
I went into the store to test one of these out and ended up playing a Roland TD12. I walked out of the shop £2200 poorer, but it's a fantastic toy :D
 
i made mine have double bass lol..does anyone know if the midi on this is capable for drumkit from hell superior or drum kit from hell 2?
