It looks nice! 8 Mic Pres, ADAT/SPDIF I want one! Because the Alesis MultiMIxer Firewire 16 Is going to be setup @ Church and this one looks good for my home setup.

thats what i'm saying Identity. Too bad this thing is pretty new. I couldnt seem to find any reviews on it. It features direct monitoring, so no latency. I think i'll pick one up and return it if i aint happy with it. Hey bro...... you raza too??

Well, I have been playing around with the Firewire 16, and to me it seems stable, this Unit [iO|26] uses the same DICE II firewire.

I was shooting for the Presonus Inspire 1394, but I really need ADAT I/O for expansion later, so this unit looks good and 8 Mic Pres!!!!.I can probably get from GC for $350.00 if they have it in stock.

Thanks!
My daugther is also getting into this "neverending habit of us' of buying gear, and she wants to buy a recording interface[Inspire 1394] but we probalby going to get together and buy the iO|26 Firewire. Even the name sounds and looks cool :D:D.

P.S. Go around our spanish forum and say: Hola to the rest of La Raza!

well..........i decided on my interface and bought a Presonus Firebox firewire. It does exactly what i want it to do. Has a 6 input simultaneous recording capability. 4 are analog and 2 are for midi/spdif, 2 mic preamps. With my music i never record more than 4 tracks simultaneously, so it will work just fine. I could always use my analog mixer for preamps as well. It set up with out any trouble, didnt even have to download any latest driver of anykind. It comes with Cubase, but i do not like that program. I tried it with my Magix Audio Studio DAW and it can run under ASIO and WDM. Worked great. So far i set the latency as low as 2 ms with out no problem, and i will experiment with lower settings. Best of all, it was on sale at the local GC for $250. Pretty good deal and now i look forward to making future songs with it. And oh yeah......... imma check out the raza forum!!

Great Deal!! I was about to pick up the Inspire 1394 yesterday on 1 day sale for $149.00, but I'm really thinking about the Alesis one.....So well see! Keep us posted!!

I'm really interested in this io/26. I'm really surpsied by the 399$ going rate for 8 pres and the ability to do 24bit/192k. It looks like an impressive unit. I'm using a MOTU 828mkII, but I could have saved three hundred dollars and had six more preamps! I guess there'll always be something better out there, but if I didn't have an interface, I think I would definitely snage this one, unless you want a unit that goes in a rack space and has little knobs that are harder to access...
