Hello all,
As I build up my new DAW, I have a simple, yet confusing question: What is the best way to interface my DVD/CD drive with my M-Audio Omni Studio? Of course the Delta 66 has no internal connectors, however, my gigabyte motherboard has cd audio in. Now, I DO NOT want to have that onboard soundcard operating, so if I don't:
- can I still use the cd audio input on motherboard from the DVD/CD player?
- is the IDE cable from the drive capable of transfering sound in some way?
- to extract DIGITAL samples from CD with no D/A conversion, I can simply use a ripper, correct?
Thanks in advance - it's been over 6 years I have been out of computer music, and I am looking forward to my return!
