Hello everyone, home recording noob here. I was wondering if there was such a thing as an interface that was just an interface, no mic pre-amps no phantom power or any other extras that i've seen, just bare bones. as i already have everything on my mixer. Something like 8-1/4" inputs, one or two firewire outs. Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

M-Audio has the Delta 44, 66, and 1010. They have balanced line-level 1/4" inputs and outputs on a simple breakout box. The 44 and 66 have 4 ins and outs, and the 1010 has 8 ins and outs. The 66 and 1010 also have digital I/O.

What's your price rance? It may have a few more features than you're looking for, but I'm selling my Motu 828mkII. 8 1/4" inputs, 8 1/4" outputs, 8 channels of ADAT in, 2 channels with basic preamps on the front of the unit for a quick'n'dirty track, 2 firewire ports, etc.

Let me know if you're at all interested and I'll give you a price.

l looked on ebay at the m-audio delta 1010 and 1010lt. I think thats the way i want to go. I've just got to decide on 1010 or 1010lt

thanx for the help.

The 1010lt doesn't fit your description of what you want as it has two pre-amps built-in. I think the 1010 is a much better unit (spec wise as I haven't used it).

I've been using the Delta 44 since 2000 and it's been working great for me!

Good luck!

You can set the preamped inputs to line level though on the 1010lt. It is the best bang for the buck. But if you have the extra dough, spring for the the 1010 and get the breakout box.
