interface outputs

i'm setting up my new home setup and thinking about this Motu 24i I can get a deal on. It's pretty old and doesn't do ANYTHING fancy, but it's 24 channels of decent AD convertors for cheap.

Problem is, I was hoping for an interface with a volume knob on it for control of feedback or whatever, since I don't use a mixer. This thing only has two outputs, the stereo outputs at the back, and the headphone jack at the front. The phone jack has a volume knob. So the idea hit me that i could split from the phone jack and run it to my monitors, and run the stereo outputs to my headphone amp, where I'd have volume control anyways. However, I don't know the technicalities of the different output levels involved there, anybody know if that would work at all? There's no documentation on this 24i to be found anywhere.
 
I think by splitting the 1/4" headphone out from the Motu, you'll receive a mono signal.
 
thanks, but that one I'm gonna disagree with, cause it's a stereo headphone output, so I just need the right stereo adaptor that will take the left and right channels from that output and separate them. If the adaptor's mono, then yeah, that would be a problem. The thing I'm concerned about is the output levels and quality of the signal sent from the headphone jack. Any others?
 
never mind, problem solved. there's a jumper that switches the volume knob to control the main outs
