hello, i have just bought an m-audio pro-fire 2626, im an idiot and though my new laptop (HP G60-635DX) had a firewire port... well i go to plug in my profire and what do you know, no firewire port. if someone could tell me a simple solution such as a converter to fix this that would be great, but as i researched the only way to do it by getting a firewire card installed in your laptop.

Im a desktop guy i don't know much about laptops ( i know its kind of lame for recording to have a laptop but i won it for free and its actually really nice!)
but anyway, anyone who knows how to solve this or what converter, adapter, card to buy let me know! thank you for reading!!

I have had a look at the laptop specs and also looked for adaptors, I don't think there is a way to do this with the model laptop you have.

Can you take the m-audio back and swap it for a USB device?

Alan.

ugh

i bought it off ebay =[ but thank you so much for trying to help! i think i'll just try to trade it for a desktop with a firewire of equal power
