so let me know if anyone here can distribute, fabricate, or know a trusty company who can...

thanks !

(oh, better if USB 1.0 not 2.0, as i see that'll be expensive)

are we building something?

DIY hard drive?

Yeah, with such an odd request, you have to clue us in as to your intentions. WTF are you planning?

hahaha

oh... umm... nothing.
im not planning... anything.

no really, i actually want to sell the suckers with some music on em. kind of like a substitute for a cd you know ?

thats why i need them CHEAP. as cheap as possible. and no need for a usb 2.0. can be nice and slow haha

Interesting concept...I mean that but do you think they'll be cheaper than CDs or are you just looking to do something different and out of the box?

This is what NIN did, i believe it was him, for his latest album. He dropped flash drives all over the place with the songs on it to generate publicity. Cool idea.

yeah, well the idea is to sell my album in that manner.
but if you think about it... its not so useful after all.

whats the difference between someone buying your cd in wave format, then uploading to their computer, via itunes or whatever, and converting to mp3 and then putting it on their mp3 portable....

as opposed to buying a pen drive, uploading to computer already in mp3 format, then putting it into their mp3 portable.

its almost the same hassle. but they do get a pen drive. and they pay more. so... ultimately, its just a nice promotion thing. cant sell all your music like that just yet, cause of the cost mainly. also car stereos dont play memory drives yet. maybe like 0.05% do.

NIN as in nine inch nails ?

wow, that was in nov. 2005.
not bad for them. i'd like to know how that went, how many sales and such.
for a 128mb drive, that really is a nice price. 30 bucks. if you're into the band and all.

i think ideally it would be cool to buy a memory device, be it reusable or not (in the sense that you can erase whats on it and use it for yourself)... and then be able to transfer that directly to your player... without using the computer. via bluetooth or whatever the hell.

i'd prefer a nice universal slot in the player where you plug in the also universal memory device.

yeah! good times technology.
suck it money makers
long live the artistic artform

Mabey in 2005 that was a nice price.??
I suppose that the labor cost involved in loading the flash drives could be quite a bit higher. I don't know if there is anyone set up with automation for loading them except maybe the memory manufactures.

Who knows what will come.

I just loaded all my cd's onto a 100gig external hard drive. Pretty cooooool!

check this place out. Sort of figured the corperate promotion companys would be the ticket.
