I am not familiar with AMD specs. They tend to be cheaper priced, too
Where can I find out more about AMD processors. i.e. 3300+ = what Intel P4 ?

Are there any advantages or disadvantages with AMD ? Or am I talking Ford vs Chrysler ( i.e. it don't matter )

simple AMD 3300+ = same performance as an Intel 3.3ghz. Intel faster clock. AMD more efficient and can process equivalent to higher clock speeds so this translates to running cooler. What you really need to look at is the price performance ratio.

.I prefer AMD, but I can't argue the different aspects of it intelligently, and a flame war will now begin.

True to that but I can shed some light on the subject. AMD is better because the architecture is more efficient, runs cooler than pentium so less fan noise. as many people have said AMD 3000+ is compared to a more expensive Pentium 3.0Ghz, so the power to price ratio is better with AMD. AMD also has an integrated memory controller, Hyper Transport is faster than Intels Hyperthreading. Just think about it AMD 3000+ is probably $150 by now I got mine last year for $209 and the pentium d 2.8Ghz is like $300. My friends got one and mine out performs his even though he's got twice the ram.
