Newbie question. Most people who record with their computer buy a decent soundcard and multitracking software and get going. But what about integrated systems like Paris? Any significant advantages to the user? I can see the point of view of the manufacturer - integrating software and hardware defeats piracy, right? But what about the user? Is it just convenience - everything in one package?

Dobro,

I would think the main advantage is that you are not expecting the computer to do practically everything. The dedicated hardware (DSP, converters, etc.) can be designed without the constraint of having to run under an all-purpose OS, allowing way more horsepower and flexibility.
