Insulated Studio - Bass trap still needed?

I just finished my basement and with it one of the rooms for my studio. I have insulated all the walls and ceiling with R9 fiberglass batts.

Had I not insulated the room at all, would I have needed more bass traps or does that not matter because of the drywall?

Would I have gotten better absorption, had I left off the drywall?

I'd say you'd still need bass traps, even without the drywall.

I agree - sound isolation and room treatment are separate issues. Bass traps, diffusion, and absorbtion of reflections will still be needed.

yesss they are completely right

eliminate all 90 degree angles within the room. with bass traps or diffusers and what not

You want bass traps in corners. Diffusers should be used on walls, preferably the back wall in a control room. But home studios are usually too small for effective diffusion, imo.
