A sonic striptease without the bush. First impression. I' ll comment more when capable.

Is that a Tritone?

what do I know,
Theron.

oh yeah....you're a plumber, right??...can't you fix that leak?

soooo...how looooow can yoooou goooooo? groovy dude. I DO hear vocals in there...and I like 'em.

Roland XP-30! All the drone type sound a man could ever need..:)

I thought about vocals, but after hearing it a few times I got used to it.. the XP-30 is quite cool and I got a good deal on it.. Is the mix cool?

thanks for checkin' it out

sam

yeah...the mix is good....but you need a better iso booth because you can hear the faucet leaking in your bathroom.

and what is that munchin sound in there...you're gonna have to make me listen to it again to point out the time...but it is when the music stops...and ya hear a little munchin in the background...singing a lullabye in the background..

one question....how do you tune your guitar so low without the strings so wobbly? I mean...you're going down past C on the low E string...eh? Even with telephone poles on your geetar...

what are your string gauges??

yeah...right at 1:10...there's the lil' munchin. Is that you:eek:

phhaatt geetars homeboy-You really seem to have a composers outlook. Good sci-fi tune.

I gotta be honest, the melody was kinda getting on my nerves until the guitars came and kicked it in the ass!!! GREAT guitar sounds what did you use to track the axe parts

Rock On!!!
The King

As usual a Samcide original wih the guitar sounds from the nether world. Noone but noone can make that evil death metal sound like you do man. I have to agree with the king about the diddly little melodica sounding melody when it's by itself. But when the guitars come in it's a whole different thing. I really like the sound you get. Would you run thru your guitar chain again please/

"about the diddly little melodica sounding melody" quote from Lt. Bob,,,

Yeah, but wasn't it worth it?

so...do I win a prize for [correctly?] guessing a [xp30] melodica??

like how do you friggin get your guitar sound tuned below the surface of the earth...and yet still have it be playable....

drip drip...doom!

Hand this one to Mike Patton for vocals. Very cool sounds, especially the gits!

Blackie, you young maniac, Killer sound. Almost reminds me of the break in "No More Tears". You sure milk every ounce of sound out of everything you get your mits on, don't you. Mikey likes it!:D

LoL! :D I'm suprised you heard that.. It's not me though.. It's a sample of a woman crying.. All in the name of fun though! :)

Here's the guitar scoop.. I use either 10's or 11's for strings.. This song was only tuned to drop B... I sometimes use A# though.. Basically I tuned the guitar to C# and dropped the top string to B.. This way the rest of the guit isnt as mushy.. It goes B-F#-B-E-G#-C#..I used to have to bring my guitars in for a setup every couple months and when the guy started charging me about $100 for every guitar setup, I figured I better learn how to do it if I want to keep using these tunings.. It's not hard to set up your own guitar if it doesnt have a wammy bar.. I usually tweak them weekly. When your tuned low like this you have to pluck it a bit more gently too... I spend A LOT of time tuning.. I tried a 7 string guitar but wasnt crazy about it.. The main reason why I use alternate tunings is because I am not a 'real' guitarist and I must use every trick in the book to try and get the sounds out of me...

I used 3 different processors for this tune.. One of the heavy rhythms was Pod Pro into the BLue Max compressor into the BBE sonic Maximizer.. The other rhythm was the J-Station into the Blue Max into the BBE Sonic Maximizer..The cleaner leads at the end were the J-Station into the Blue Max into the BBE.. Some of the leads were a Sansamp GT2 into the Blue Max into the 'BBE.. others were Pod Pro, Blue max, BBE.. The Blue Max compressor is one of my most important tools I use.. It works great on guitar and bass.... I also used some synth behind the guitar rhythm to give it that extra meat.. I dont usually do that but I wanted something thicker... the Blue Max compressor really help tightens up the sound.. I wish I was able to add compression to the whole mix but I always end up with that pumping sound.. I think that's one of the main things I need is some way to compress and tweak the mix as a whole. I am in a rut recording wise because they're not sounding as good as I would like..

badgas - yeah it was worth it! :D thanks for bothering..

thanks for the ears guys, it's appreciated..:)

Track Rat - 'No More Tears' really is a great tune aint it...:D thanks for checkin it out man...

Lt. Bob -looking forward to the next collab! If you wanna know anything else about this just ask.. I'll be talking to you soon dude.. thanks

SLuiCe - I had a vocal idea I was thinking of trying.. Something like almost narration during the weird parts, and a few harmonys during the heavy parts.. Maybe I'll just leave it though.. I would probably ruin it with vocals. thanks man..

thanks again everyone who bothered.. I cant tell what sounds decent anymore so your input is very valuable to me..

Damn. Your tone doesn't cease to impress me. It's evil as always. I guess the vocals would work in this song. I can imagines some of your singing here. The drums sound pretty good in this song. The overall mix reminds me of Dream Theater's "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" material. Maybe it's the drum mixing and the guitar tone. The weird stop kinda distracted me halfway into the song, but I think it wouldn't sound so off with vocals in it. You've gotta sing some vocals to this song. Please... :D

;) :D

good. Sam, I never got into your main genre until I started coming here. Now I won't go out and buy any metal, but I can listen to it in a different ear now, and enjoy it much more. I like the stuff you do on here. It's real.

I Am the Evil Walrus! That was a fun listen, very creative playing, great tone and mood. Yep, an Ozzie vocal would be perfect, but the piece stands so well as an instrumental, why mess with it?
I agree about the guitars, amazing how you can coax that sound out. At times they sound like banshee cellos and violins.
Great piece!
