I found a great MIDI file on the web of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" a couple of years ago... played my guitar to it through the POD... did not succumb to the temptation to double parts or comp several takes into one "best" take, just tried playing over it until I had a single take I was fairly accepting of.

Cool play on Stevies tune Al!:)The only thing my ears kept wanting to hear were harmony guitars at this point in the song:

"I'm so darn glad He let me try it again,
'Cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin.
I'm so glad that I know more than I knew then.
Gonna keep on tryin' till I reach the highest ground. "

Cool tune and good guitar work.:D

Kramer,

Thanks for the kind words. I'll think about harmonizing that part you suggested and see if I like how it sounds... stay tuned...

excellent choice of tunes... I'da liked to hear the guitar veer off the melody and improv (with a tad more 'flash') at times. nice sound on the midi files and the guitar, however.

what guitar?...and Pod settings did you use, btw?

Hey that grooves AlChuck.

You really got that fusiony sound to your playing, I like your vibrato.

I find the guitar a bit processed in parts, but it fits the tune. Is that an errant note at 2:51? or intentional.. :) Kidding.

Like the trill stuff you do at 1:46, cool.

Overall, great consistent, smooth playing.

Good job AlChuck!
