Installing UAD 1 / VST or Directx?

I am installing the UAD 1 on my system. Which do I select? VST or Directx?

Isn't VST strictly for Cubase? I'm running Windows XP and using Cakewalk GTP 3. Thanks...

nowadays lots of programs can use VST plugs if they have a VST wrapper. If Guitar Tracks comes with one then either choice is probably ok. i'd go with directX i think just so the program would run it natively insted of using the wrapper.

Thanks for your help minofifa. While I was waiting for a reply, I read through the Read me file of GTP 3 and I found where it suggested to use VST. So VST it is! Thanks again for your help
