Installing a speaker in a guitar cab . . .

didn't know where else to post this.

I am in the process of swapping some black shadows for some fender speakers. I can see some damage around the screw holes. The hole is enlarged and some wood is cracked.

what is the best way to 'fix' this? Should I just use some wood glue, let it dry, and remount?
Should I just rotate the speaker and drill new holes? Just use larger screws? THanks in advance.

Fill the old holes as best as you can.

Rotate the speaker and drill new holes.
