Inside a 5150 cabinet?

It's not something I do regularly, but I've messed around with feeding two separate halfstacks with a stereo effect. It's pretty wild. I'll split the guitar signal through my flanger or delay and send it to two amp rigs. Pretty huge. A lot of hassle though.

That's kinda what I'm going to do, just using only the one cabinet. I know, not the best solution.

Running a tube head into 16 ohms isn't going to drop the volume or drive them harder.

Really? So you're saying if I run a 16 ohm cab with the same speakers (except for impedance) as an 8 ohm cab, they will both be the same actual volume at a given setting?

Yes. A speakers ohm rating has nothing to do with it's volume.

Well if you mic each bank of speakers it will work as you're intending for recording purposes. It's effect will be minimal out in the room or for live use.

I used to run a stereo rack rig with a Marshall 4x12 split into 2 sides and it sounded killer.
