Insert Recording?

I just bought the behringer mx2004a mixer. I plan on using it as a recording mixer by using the inserts as direct outs to an eight track recorder.
My question is this: Will it work? I was worrying that perhaps the inserts do not send an amplified signal and that it would be too weak to record. Am I right (please no), or wrong (please yes)?

If I remember correctly, channel inserts are PRE-fader and EQ and POST - preamp. So the signal U get is completly from the preamp... the fader and EQ won't do anything. This should be fine for sending to an eight track though =)

yeah, the insert points are pre fader and pre eq, but thats what i was hoping for - that way i can do mixdown without repatching (hopefully)
