I've had Logic audio platinum 3.5 now for nearly a year and I still can't record audio. I've got a Neumann mic (TLM103), a macG3, a behringer 16 track mix desk (with phantom) and I want to record guitar and voice as audio tracks and then put samples and drums over the top. What needs to be connected to what and what should the environment look like?

not familiar with the Logic Audio, but PRAISE GOD WE HAVE ANOTHER MAC USER!!!!

Can you tell me what the inputs on the card are and what the interface is like??? Or give me a link to their website? If so, I think I can help you out.

Crystal chip

Dear Miker73

thanks for the mail. The inputs on the card (and I assume you mean what I plug things into at the back of the computer) are the small (6mm, I think) stereo jack plugs. There are two – one in (marked with a microphone symbol) and the other out (marked with a loudspeaker symbol). The interface? well, I just opened the computer and the interface between card and puter is a big, long 98 pin (I think) brown slot-in port (I’m sorry to have to describe it this way but the card was in the computer when I got it, so I never had to install one so I don’t know the specifications). Compared to the other three empty (cream-coloured) slots, it’s about a third as long.

The info on the main chip says :

CRYSTAL
CS4212-KL
LTADGB9748
343S0184-01
©1997 Apple

As far as websites go, try this:

http://www.crystal.com/design/products/overview/index.cfm?DivisionID=2&SubdivisionID=5&ProductID=3

this will take you to the CS4215 chip. I’ve searched for the CS 4212 but I couldn’t find it.

Thanks for your help

Karl
