i recorded a song today. its still a pretty rough idea. but overall its probably my best tone.

i use

an alesis mutimix 8 (the usb port broke so im using it to line in to my computer)
for drums.
and (now dont laugh)
a behringer Vamp2 for guitar and bass.
the synth sounds were programmed in fl studio and i recorded it all to a metronome.

I have to start out by saying I overall don't like J-pop, or techno. Having said that, there are some things you can do to make this recording way better.

I would just lose the entire intro with the guitar and the metronome. It sounds bad. Start where the synths start. Then compress your drums a little so that they aren't so harsh at the high end. EQ the bass sounds so that they are louder.

Also, turn your guitars down like 10db!! They are really loud and slightly off timing with the tempo in some places. You should just rerecord the guitars I think. Trying to fix those tiny misalignments will be a headache.

I would do that for starters and add an organ on a low octave. That would thicken the sound a lot. Thanks for sharing.
