I have Sonar 3 Producer with an Aardvark Q10. We started trying to record drums but having problems with input levels peaking out. I haven't have peaking issues when recording at home since I record everything direct (with drum machine) so I've been able to adjust the volume on the direct boxes and drum machine. So this is the first time micing drums. Basically, I don't seem to be able to control the input level on a track in Sonar
I guess the Aarkvark manager does not have much effect on the input, because when I slide the fader in Aark manager all the way down, I still get a signal going into the Sonar track. The mic trim in Aark manager seems to effect input (but still peaks).
So basically, I'm trying to see how I can control the input level for a Sonar track. On the track screen, the input faders or even the volume trim does not affect the input level. Seems all the mic inputs are on full gain. Would I just have to run the 4 drum mics into a mixer, then into Sonar/Q10 to adjust the levels?
Thanks
