Info on vintage mics...

Does anybody know of a place I can find info on vintage mics? I just picked up an old Monarch TM-16 Elvis-ish looking ribbon (Japanese), and I'm curious about it's history and/or specs. I've been collecting old wierd mics for a bit, and I'm curious about some others too.
 
Can you tell me anything about the characteristics of an old EV636 that I have?

I've already figured out that it's an omni pattern. I've seen old newsreels of the House Committee on Un-American Activities from the 50's where these were used.

I also caught a Hank Williams Sr. TV commercial where he was using one on stage.

Apparently Electro-Voice doesn't know or they just blew me off. I've never heard back from them.
 
So far, the only luck I've had at all has been with a few Harp mic sites, and vintage mic books on ebay. I'm hoping somebody's gonna come through with a link.

It seems they left out the EV-636. Looked like just about everthing else was there though.
