NM - Land of Excrement
I've searched the bbs and even asked this question before (buried in another discussion). I'd like a link or two that will teach me about using a patchbay. I don't know what normal, half-normal, soldered, etc., means and would like to learn. An internet search is not providing a good link either. Please help.

thanks,

rpe

ME TOO!

Man o man! I was just about to post a thingy about patchbays!
And then RPE did it for me! Talk about spooky!

WTF??!!
Balanced? Unbalanced?
I need one that is 1/4" on both sides (I think)

HELP!

We've talked about them a lot in the past, but the search function is still down. Still, read through this thread- I posted a number of articles about patching, normalling, and signal flow in it. Then, if you still have questions, come back and post them here.

It's a long thread, but there's a lot of good material from a lot of people in it.

thanks skip,

I'll try and digest that thread. I know it must get frustrating for you experts but we rookies really appreciate your comments.

thanks P(B).....

not only was it didactic but quite pedagogical.

OK, someone had to say it:

This song, while well-recorded, is AWFUL!

"Rhythm's coming down to get ya
Now that's a fact
It'll make you sweat."

Sheer poetry.

I thought lyrics like this died with, oh, I don't know, El DeBarge.

hey comingin2nd ... that was my very thought. Great song but the lyrics - DUH! He repeats that "fact" quite often considering it's a "fact" anyway :D

actually, it's not the rhythm that made me sweat ... it's the lyrics.

(btw, this is completely the wrong thread to say all of this but if anyone wants to know what we're talking about, listen to the song posted by Sonusman ni thie thread https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=48339&perpage=25&pagenumber=1)

Wow, that's embarassing. I must have been even more out of it last night than I thought. My apologies.
