Inexpensive solution to a MOTU Firewire Rack?

I'm on a budget here for my first Real PC recording setup and I can't swing another $1,000+ for a MOTU rack, but I' like 10+ digital ins for when I start doing drum tracks. I was going to use an analog behringer mixer into an audiophile or echo soundcard, but I heard that some Latentcy problems can occur. That's obviously not something I want to deal with.

Any Suggestions reccomendations for a inexpensive 10+ in digital audio interface?
 
you want 10 digital inputs?? that's quite a lot and very expensive...

a Delta 1010 wil give you analog ins, but that is not what you are after I presume?
