Hi there,

what are my options for a good, but inexpensive ADAT frontend (mic-pre + 1/4")

I understand the Behringer has the ADA8000 - are there any other options out there?

thx !

what do you think, is it a good idea to get used "older" stuff, like the MOTU 2048 II (and such) ???

I dont particularily care for 96kb but I do care for good sound ... or is it really so that the newer stuff ist better than the (once very expensive) stuff from - say - 2001???

thx

as an alternative if your ready to spend serious money alfred, look into good preamps into a rme or lynx
a to d front end. for a daw.

thats the problem .... i am a cheap bastard... :o)

honestly, I cant justify a very big investment ...

I just got myself a Terratec 88d ADAT card for 69 bucks off e-bay ... and i can put another 2-300 bucks into a "good" frontend (not very good, not excelent)

there are quite some deals on MOTU 2048 II, Alesis AI3, etc... - last years (or the year before that) favorits ... would this be a good alternative.

My main reason is ... if I hook them up ADAT-toslink, there is no such thing as "driver incompatiblilty", as the card will do all the "systems-work" ... see my point?

again thx..
