i produced this, did not engineer it. i played everything but bass on this cd, including full songwriting.

www.myspace.com/suchgreatspeeds

the songs from the studio are "and we could be quiet" and "t'you don't know"

i would recommend downloading them to get a better idea of the quality.

we used fatso compression on the overheads for the longer song, and a distressor on my voice for both. any questions, i'd be happy to answer.

the guitar tones are 1960's tele, gibson SG, and a 1960's strat (all vintage) coming out of JCM 800, bogner shiva 1x12, and my orange AD30 30w TC head.

by the way, this was done in a home studio with pro tools mix plus. 1176's, ribbon mikes and other goodies were used.

very nice tunes. maybe check out other mp3 hosts though.....myspace streams sound awful. have you checked out soundclick.com, nowhereradio.com, or lightningmp3.com?

i dig the acoustic stuff........what the hell is a distressor?

Imagine a box that will distort and compress at the same time.

I didn't really care for the first one much, but I really like "t'you don't know"

I like it when indierock acts mix their vocals lower in the mix so it doesn't float above everything else. basically, it makes the guitars seem louder and more rockin'. other than that it's all pretty good stuff; i like the interplay between the panned guitars.

i like it to be more of a pop influenced mix, especially on my newer stuff. i want the vocals to stick out. i don't like having to guess what people are saying.
