Here is my multipurpose study/studio. Since such a small part of the time I spend is recording I want it to be a tranquil place to kick back and write songs by candlelight, while drinking a homemade beer and smoking my hookah. (the legal stuff these years ;) )
Since the room is all antiques except for my mini-fridge and printer it has a 1930's/ 1940's feel to it. I can kick on the shortwave to give it even more feel.

All that said, when it is time to record I have my hidden studio. It consists of my Boss BR-864 digital studio, Peavey PV6 mixer, MXL V63M condensor mic, a Pentium 4 PC with 600 gig of HD space, dual head video for the twin LCD displays, wireless keyboard and and a gyro-mouse that can be used normal or pointing at the screen like for presentations.... more on the PC maybe later... it's pretty set up tho.
Mic stands put away in the armoirre. Everything comes together and puts up in minutes.

thanks, after nearly 7 years lurking I figured it was time to post something :o

well it's about damn time!

so is the keyboard attached to the front of the thing, so that when you lift it up it stays in place? or do you have to move the keyboard before you shut the thing (whatever you call that piece of furniture)?

Oh I am gonna get this wrong, but it reminds me of Radar Men From The Moon, or something like that, you know where the view screen popped up, and they talked to their evil leader....maybe it was something else....either way if you want "out of the way" you have done it in style. Love the wood.

The wood does give me wood. But I'm too much of a gear slut. I'd need about 16 of those. :D

The keyboard is just sitting there in case I want to move around. The furniture it is in is a solid mahogany entertainment center made by a company called Bevan Funnell. They sell really overpriced stuff, but really nice stuff. It is made to look like an old piece of furniture when closed.

I lucked into it and picked it up for $100. Believe it or not it is over $3000 new. I know that sounds crazy...

The old radio is a 1939 Philco I restored. I am looking for a descent tube amp with a crappy cabinet and putting the guts in it and relocating the controls to where the radio buttons are. Then putting a descent speaker. Converting it to a guitar amp basically.
Like I said I stash the mic stands in the armoirre. I have a lot of other crapola in various drawers. The old chest under the window has all my beermaking equipment and it is a good place to let it ferment.
In those pics I don't have any of my hookahs out but they look pretty cool as well.
