Yeah but, what if some client comes in, and throws $100,000 at your feet, and parks his truck in the control room, and runs over it then?
It's ALWAYS good, ALWAYS good, ALWAYS good to have a redundant backup going on. I'm a firm believe in CYA (Cover Your Ass). RAID set up, 300GB external archive, a couple usb drives, and back ups in different locations (PGT & Weatherman has weekly full backups on HD, and 1 on disc and 1 on a server wherever godaddy is located at lol.

Well, every individual project is backed up to DVD as well. But the master backup is the external drive.
If the client wants more assurance, then they have to pay for it.

well i gotta say it does feel good to see such a offering of responses and advice - i was so sick over this shit that i havent been NEAR either of my computers since i first posted about this . . .
i still have no clue about whats wrong - but i do have a comp. techie comin to look at it today - im prayin to God there is a quick, affordable, solution to this obstacle!!! might even consider prayin to some other entities as well . . . but lets not go there!!!!

ok im doin back ups now - im using Nero to create my back ups - i personally like it to burn cds, never used it for back ups. never did back ups like this either. hope its the same thing . .. in the past i just BURNED a cd of the entire project as a DATA disc - its the same thing rite?
