there's this weird hum noise at the beginning there right before the drums kick in. is it intentional?
vocalist is out of tune for a lot of the song. the mix needs to be balanced more. especially in regards to balancing it for the entire song. the guitar seems to stand out at certian parts and then disappear later. same with the vocals. i'm not getting any kick drum either. drums overall need to definitely come out....they sound too boxy. keep workin'.

Yeah, we're are broke 14 year olds so we cant afford many mics...we got to the point of having to actually plugging up about two computer mics to the mixer for drums, and we have another mic now for kick. Oh and yes, the hum/static is intentional, however it didn't quite turn out the way we wanted it to. Thanks for the feedback.

Oh and what do you mean by the drums sounding boxy...like empty? How can we fix that? Maybe some reverb or something?

i'm not really good at explaining things. but i think it just needs more mixing work. drums need to be compressed more, more EQing, utilizing the stereo imaging more....i don't know. it's hard to critique the mix now after you said you're only using computer mics. but are you using a multitrack program to record this into? i'm thinking what you are doing is just recording this as mono and then copying it to make it a stereo file. am i right?

but if you're just asking for critique on the music....fix the pitch problems with the vocalist, re-think or rework that guitar hum before drums (the lead into it was nice though). i'm not much of a punk rock music fan though. good luck.

Most definately not punk! hah, I am hooking a mixer to the computer, using Kristal Audio Engine. So it is recording in stereo

sorry...you're not punk? what do you consider yourselves? sounds punk like to me

are you panning anything though in the mix? i'm just looking at the spectrum analysis of the song and both sides are the exact same. i know MP3s cut down the stereo image some, but I doubt so much that both sides are the exact same. if you're not, look into panning more too to take advantage of the stereo image.
