Recorded all new guitars, editing and remixing this song this week. Been listening over and over so I would appreciate some other ears to listen to this to see how it's progressing. It's a pretty simple arrangement mainly focusing on the lead vocals and story within the lyrics.

Thanks! :D:D:D:D

Gerry, I'm glad you're breathing some new life into the oldies. You were quite different sylistically when you 1st started posting. The song quality is constant though.
Is that a re-recorded bass line? It may need some compression or fader automation as the levels aren't even or it may be it just needs a little compression to tighten the low notes, (those low ones seem to spread out in y headphones).
The harmonies are nice & PI does another sympathetic rattle tat.

Thanks Ray - I did a few more vocal edits earlier this morning.... After resting my ears, the lead vocal was just too loud so I brought it down a couple db. That mix is uploaded and it's the same link above. I'll try and find a compressor for that bass next.... I wanted the bass to take on a sort of lead role on this, while holding down the bottom end...

Sounds good, Gerry. Man, it's good to hear these tunes again.

Thanks Jason and Petridis. I'm almost done remixing this one - been focusing on the vocal tracks (done?) and then got some bass compression to do.....
BTW - forgot to mention Poeticintensity (Jason) did the drums on this one Check out his FB Page - Advanced Budget Studios :D

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to ido1957 again. You rock, dude.

Very nice mellow pop song. Well done.

Mix-wise, my first impression is that the rhythm guitar is taking alot of space that probably could go a little more to the bass and definitely to the vocals. Some mid range cuts in EQ would be the first thing I'd try. Of course they would make the solo'd track sound bad, but would fit into the overall mix better. Those stereo effects are hard, they sound great on their own but right now the simple strumming pattern is more prominent than the vocal, and you definitely want the vocals up front. I especially like the harmony vocals and I would take some time to highlight those.

I like the song. The instrument performances are good. If I had one nit it would be the vocals. They just sound quiet, timid, and dry compared to the rest of the mix. Not sure what processing you have on them at this point, but that's what I'm hearing.

i kind of like the understated-ness of the vocals. the whole mix is very open and just really easy to listen to. this is well crafted pop music and flows naturally.

Cool song. I like the drums - PI did a good job there. A couple of spots where the crashes dont line up exactly with the bass/guitars, but overall it is pretty straight.

I like your lyrics. The chorus harmonies could stand to be thickened up a hair IMO.

I'm hearing 16th note tambourine on the choruses to give them a little lift.

Agreed - I was trying to "bury" the rhyhms a bit but sounds like I can do some more in that direction.

I can add some more reverb to blend. The timidness is built into the voice ;-) and also related to the high key.

I redid the rhythms completely so he tracked against some sloppy playing orignally I'm lucky he could even follow that lol....
Thanks - lyrics / story are the main focus (autobiographical) and that's why I kept the instruments simple.
Not sure maybe some mids on the harmonies?
