Audio Bum
I'm trying to open 24bit/44.1 Logic Audio .wav files in CEP. I'm probably missing something obvious but they wont open properly no matter what settings I've tried. The files sound like distorted sine waves which usually means it opened the file in the wrong bit format.

I know CEP will save 24bit but will it open them?

Okay, here's a shot in the dark. I recently became aware of the fact that Cool can save files in a variety of formats (I'm not talking about bitdepth and sample rate, I'm talking about different kinds of wav file formats). To find out what Cool can handle, click on Save As in Edit View. If you then click on Options in the dialog, you'll get Cool's six options for wav file format. (The third one, 32-bit 0.24 normalized float, is the one I've got selected, and it works for importing wav files into Cool from Fruity Loops, for example).

Sorry for the ramble, but maybe the Logic files are not in the right wav format?

If you know all this already, feel free to flame me. :D

Go to File > Open As.. and hilight a wave file that was used in Logic and look towards the right of the "Open" dialog box and should be a checkbox and next to it should say "Show File Information", make sure that box is checked. Look at the file information below, for 24-bit, it should say "24-bit Packed Int (type 1 (24-bit)). And maybe this can help you get closer to the answer.

Another wise choice would be to check out the forums at Syntrillum's website.

I tried the Open as and it seems like it will only do 8,16, and 32bit.

I checked the forums at Syntrillium and they dont talk about importing, only exporting.

I'm using CEP 1.0 Was 24 bit file import added in a later version?

I'm not totally sure but there's a big possibility it was added in a later version.

I believe Synt offers free upgrades to the later version, you should look into that.
