Ok, Im doing a bit of experimenting at home, in between band recordings. I have a song wrote, acoustic based......but I thought it would sound great with a few chords from an organ/piano threw in there for good measure. Only problem is, I have no organ/piano and Im too skint to buy one, even a cheap one.....is there any software out there (Freeware) that I could download that could maybe let me simulate a keyboard using my laptop? (Like a drum machine only a keyboard machine!!! lol)

I know it might sound like a dumb question, but maybe its not. :)

I then plan to bring my finished masterpiece to the rest of the band and maybe we could use it in our set. Easy-peasy.

Any help appreciated!! And if you tell me to "wise up, there aint no such thing you crazy Irish man", then thats ok!

hmm....i forgot how much it costs, if at all, but there are some really killer Virtual Instruments from Native Instruments, like a hammond b3, that are spot on.

Aha....so there is such a thing and Im not living in some sort of virtual organ world then. Google....here I come.

Thanks djhead.

Look around here --- LINK --- it's a massive collection of freeware, shareware and commercial plugins with many free organ and piano plugins to be found.

If you don't have a controller keyboard they may even have a solution to that problem too.

The site has grown ENORMOUSLY since the first time I visited it three years ago and therefore is kinda difficult to search so don't expect to log right on, find what you're looking for and get off. Take your time and you will probably find what you're looking for.
